Join us in the fun of kicking off the 2017 North American Safe Boating Campaign! And, don’t forgot to spread the word on social media using the hashtag #safeboating. We’ll be sure to give you a shout out!
- Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day (May 19, 2017): This is a fun opportunity to educate coworkers or building mates about the proper life jacket for them, different styles, and how to use an inflatable life jacket by wearing your life jacket to work. Snap a picture of yourself in your life jacket while at work and post it to the Ready, Set, Wear It! Facebook page or submit directly to the NSBC at firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to use the hashtags #RSWI2017 and #safeboating.
- Ready, Set, Wear It! Life Jacket World Record Day (May 20, 2017): Thousands of people from around the world will attempt to set the world record for the most life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated on one day. The record to beat this year is 10,917! Find out more, register your event, and browse resources such as a customizable press release, media alert, and public service announcements at www.readysetwearit.com. Share photos from your event with the hashtags #RSWI2017 and #safeboating.
- National Safe Boating Week (May 20 – 26, 2017): From family friendly events at marinas to vessel safety checks, this week is packed with life-saving messages about responsible boating. You can help share about the importance of safe boating on social media! We developed suggested posts, along with an image with a boating safety tip, for each day of National Safe Boating Week. Feel free to share from our Facebook page each morning by 8:00 a.m. ET, or download the images to share on your own social media accounts. You can find everything you need to spread the message on social media in our National Safe Boating Week Resource Kit.
