Fred Messmann
Deputy Director, National Safe Boating Council

Fred Messmann is deputy director of the National Safe Boating Council, the lead organization for the Safe Boating Campaign. He is a retired (2009) Game Warden Captain from the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Captain Messmann was the Nevada Boating Law Administrator, Boating Access, Clean Vessel Act, and Boating Infrastructure Grant Programs Administrator for 20 years. He served as the Western States Boating Administrators Association (WSBAA) President, and was a Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) Board member. He was president in 2004 of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and had served at various times as chair of nearly every NASBLA committee.

Shaw Grigsby
Host, One More Cast; Bassmaster Elite Series Angler

Shaw Grigsby, legendary pro angler and spokesperson for the Wear It! annual boating safety campaign. A professional angler for 35 years, Grigsby is a Bassmaster Elite Series Angler, finishing within the top 10 places 59 times and bringing home first place in nine Bassmaster fishing tournaments.

Weekly, he shares his love for fishing as the host of “One More Cast” on The Sportsman Channel. While serious about fishing, Grigsby reminds his viewers that it’s all about having fun while sharing his passion for the outdoors with others.
